Kansas City, MO (November 13, 2012)  – A longtime Kansas City holiday tradition returns next week when The Salvation Army hosts its annual Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner!

The dinner, which is open and free to the public, will be held at The Salvation Army Linwood Center, located at 101 W. Linwood in Kansas City, Missouri, Thursday, November 22 from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The meal will include turkey and all the trimmings. More than 200 volunteers will assist with the Thanksgiving Dinner from set-up to clean-up!

“Everyone is welcome at our Thanksgiving table,” said Major Charles Smith, Divisional Commander of The Salvation Army in Kansas City. “The Salvation Army’s annual Dinner has become a holiday tradition for many people who enjoy the warm and festive atmosphere, good company and great food.”

Also on Thanksgiving Day, more than 100 volunteers for The Salvation Army will deliver Thanksgiving meals to over 800 home bound and elderly individuals in the metro area.
