Sam’s Club and Off the Field Host Shopping Events to Support The Salvation Army
Eleven Stores Nationwide Help Provide a Merry Christmas to Families during
122nd Annual Red Kettle Campaign

Who: The Salvation Army, Sam’s Club and Off the Field
What: For the sixth consecutive year, Sam’s Club has teamed up with Off the Field, a non-profit organization comprised of wives of active and retired professional football players, to bring joy to families through The Salvation Army with shopping events nationwide. In total, 20 families in the Kansas City metro area will receive a combined $20,000 in food and holiday gifts, including clothes, personal items, electronics, toys and basic essentials from Sam’s Club. Recipient families were pre-selected by The Salvation Army.
Why: Walmart and Sam’s Club have worked with The Salvation Army for more than 30 years to help support people in need. Walmart and Sam’s Club will once again host Salvation Army red kettles as part of The Salvation Army’s 122nd annual Red Kettle Campaign between November 23and December 24. In 2011, Walmart and Sam’s Club helped The Salvation Army raise more than $46 million nationally – nearly a third of the record $147.6 million raised. All donations made to the red kettles will remain in the local community, and help the Army provide food, clothing, shelter, financial assistance and other services to people in need in Kansas City.
