Kansas City, MO- As search and rescue efforts continue tonight in the wake of a massive tornado that struck the town of Moore, Oklahoma, The Salvation Army Kansas and Western Missouri Division is mobilizing to assist with the relief efforts. A team of Salvation Army ministers and volunteers is deploying Tuesday morning to provide spiritual and emotional care to survivors, first responders and the community of Moore. The team includes Captains Dean and Pat Towne, Salvation Army Wichita Citadel; Major Michelle Heaver, Salvation Army Kansas City, Kansas; and John Miller, longtime Salvation Army emergency disaster services volunteer.

Monetary donations are the most critical need as supplies and personnel are mobilized.

A $250 donation can provide one hot meal to 100 people or keep a hydration station operational for 24 hours
A $500 donation keeps a Salvation Army canteen (mobile feeding unit) fully operational for one day
