The Salvation Army and KMBC/KCWE Team Up To Help Families and Seniors in Need
Kansas City, MO – Share the joy of Christmas with a family or senior citizen less fortunate this year.
KMBC/KCWE TV is partnering with The Salvation Army Wednesday, December 4 for the annual Adopt-a-Family telethon. The special holiday program provides a unique opportunity for individuals and organizations to bring the joy of Christmas to families and seniors in need.
It’s easy to participate! Just tune into KMBC/KCWE Wednesday, December 4 between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. and call 816-760-9314 anytime that day to be matched with a local family or senior citizen in need.
Sponsors may choose the size family they would like to adopt or may opt to adopt a senior citizen. With the exception of senior citizens, gifts are not provided to adults, only to children in the household. Donors should expect to spend $30-$35 per child/senior and are also asked to provide a holiday meal for the household in the form of a gift card at a local grocery store.
Adopt-a-Family sponsors will receive a wish list for the family or senior they are matched with, along with program guidelines and instructions on where and when to drop off their gifts. For more information or to adopt a family or senior online, go to www.salarmymokan.org
