Looking to make some extra money this Christmas season and have fun at the same time?
The Salvation Army is currently hiring seasonal bell ringers to assist with its 2013 Christmas Red Kettle Campaign, which runs November 8 through December 24 every day except Sundays and Thanksgiving Day.
All day parts are available at more than 250 locations across the Kansas City metropolitan area between the hours of 9 am and 9 pm. Applicants must be able to stand for extended periods of time and endure weather extremes.
“Many of our paid bell ringers are folks trying to make ends meet in a tough economy, but they also want to do something that makes them feel like they are making a difference,” said Major Charles Smith, divisional commander of The Salvation Army in Kansas City. “They know their work will help us provide food, clothing and shelter to people in need in their own community.”

Sign up at www.ringkc.com to get your choice of dates and times. “Volunteering to bell ring is a great activity for families, civic or youth groups or anyone wanting to do something fun for a good cause,” said Major Smith. There is a two-hour minimum for each bell ringing shift.
