When Our City Sees a Need . . . We See an Opportunity!
Who We Are: The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary (SAWA) is a fun, dynamic, and caring group of prominent women who serve as ambassadors and volunteers to the Kansas and Western Missouri Salvation Army! What do we do? Glad you asked!
What We Do: We volunteer and support community service programs of The Salvation Army. This includes providing volunteers for projects such as, but not limited to:
Why We Do This: We do this because we care! There is nothing more rewarding than lifting someone up and providing hope for a better life. Through our volunteer efforts we help empower individuals and families in need or distress. We also do this because we value good friends and the spirit of companionship. We enjoy the fellowship of working together with other Auxiliary members! And did we mention cookies? Auxiliary meetings and volunteer project sites include cookies or other tasty treats provided by our members!
Have Some Fun Today and Help Those in Need: We are always looking for new members to help the Women’s Auxiliary better serve the needy in our community. Check us out by coming to an Auxiliary meeting on the 3rd Wednesday of every month. We do not meet in June, July, and August, however, the volunteer events continue each month of the year! Call the SAWA office at 816-968-0333 for more information regarding meeting dates and times.
“As a member of this organization, I have many opportunities to help those in need in our community while enjoying a bond of friendship with other members of the Auxiliary. Working and volunteering together we continue to touch hearts . . . change lives . . . and make a difference!” Jennifer Bailey
