Signature Red Kettles will be located across Kansas City on Friday

WHO:                   The Salvation Army of Kansas and Western Missouri and its team of appreciated volunteer bell ringers

WHAT:                The Salvation Army begins its holiday tradition across street corners and storefronts in the greater Kansas City metro. On Friday, The Red Kettle Campaign will kick off at many locations around Kansas City and patrons will hear the signature bell ring—the sound of hope for those in need this holiday season.

The Salvation Army has set a $10 million goal this holiday season. Proceeds from the Red Kettle Campaign supports many of the Salvation Army programs and services throughout the year, including food assistance, emergency rent and utility assistance, necessities at the Children’s Shelter for abused and neglected children, alcohol and drug abuse treatment programs, senior citizens programs, homeless shelters, transitional housing for veterans and many more.

New this year, The Salvation Army Red Kettle Catalog will be available at select Red Kettle locations. The Red Kettle Catalog is a collection of life-changing gifts to help neighbors in need. Donors may purchase gifts such as warm clothing for kids, a Christmas meal for a veteran, stock for a mobile food truck, school supplies and more.

Approximately 250 Red Kettles will be spread across the metro at a variety of locations such as stores, supermarkets, shopping centers and more.
