Salvation Army kicks off its annual Red Kettle Campaign and Season Pass button sales with free coffee and pastry offer from Parisi Coffee
Kansas City, Mo. – The Salvation Army and Parisi Artisan Coffee are joining forces to celebrate the launch of the 2013 Red Kettle Campaign Friday, November 8.
Anyone who stops by Parisi Café at Union Station between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. November 8 will receive a free cup of coffee! Customers who purchase a Salvation Army Season Pass button will also receive a free pastry.
The Season Pass button, now in its third year, is a convenient way to show support for The Salvation Army throughout the holiday season and avoid having to reach for change every time you pass by a kettle.
There are three different buttons, available for a one-time donation of $20, $50 or $100. The buttons can be purchased online at www.seasonpass.salvationarmy.us. A $1.10 shipping and handling charge will be applied for each button purchased.
The Salvation Army’s 2013 Red Kettle campaign continues through December 24 every day except Thanksgiving and Sundays. This year, volunteers will be ringing bells outside more than 250 locations across the metro area. To sign up to be a bell ringer this holiday season, visit www.ringkc.com.
The money collected during the six week campaign will support many Salvation Army programs and services including food assistance, emergency rent and utility assistance, affordable day care for children of low income families, a children’s shelter for abused and neglected children, alcohol and drug abuse treatment programs, senior programs and visitation, homeless shelters and transitional housing and prison correctional programs.
The Salvation Army has also launched its annual 2013 Online Red Kettle Campaign. In addition to dropping donations into Salvation Army kettles or purchasing a Season Pass button, individuals and organizations can host a “virtual” red kettle on their personal, group or business website.
The transactions are 100 percent tax deductible and will remain in the communities in which the funds are raised. To register to become a virtual bell ringer and participate in the Online Red Kettle program, please visit www.onlineredkettle.org.
